About Pine River Creations

My woodworking journey started, as far as I’m aware, with my grandfather, who would come home from Dow Chemical and teach local teens woodworking in his basement. This is why I named my business Pine River Creations. He lived by the Pine River in Midland, MI. He unfortunately passed away when my father was only 12, though he did pass his passion for woodworking down to him. My dad started framing houses at 11, and by 16, he was running crews. My dad has built his business around construction and building the things most guys wouldn’t, and he liked the challenge. It took me longer to catch the woodworking bug as I was more of a car guy growing up. I’ve always been artistic and handy with fixing things.

I started my career focused on custom paint and autobody, then went on to be a mechanic. These transitions in my 20s led me to where I am today. I still love cars, but like a lot of woodworkers, I grew my passion for fine woodworking when my wife and I needed furniture for our first house. My wife was content going to any furniture store, but I have a high-end taste. My father gave me the attitude early on that if you don’t know how to do something, you figure it out. You can build whatever you want if you want it enough. After many years of trial and error learning this craft and sharing it with my friends and family, I’m ready to build this business, Pine River Creations. Trust me to bring your vision to life, from custom furniture pieces to home decor and everything in between. Get in touch with me today!
